Quick refurbishment of 10,000m2 floor
RonaFloor PU Coating WB was specified as a surface finish for a 10,000m² warehouse in Slough.
The outgoing tenant, responsible for dilapidations, was required to make good the floor at the end of his tenancy. The floor which had been used as a vehicle maintenance workshop was contaminated with petrol, diesel and oil. It had also been damaged through constant use of heavy lifting gear and tools which had been dropped onto the concrete.
Specialist contractors were called in to prepare the floor using recyclical and recoverable shot blasting equipment to cut below the depth of oil contamination. Quick set repairs were carried out with RonaFloor Repair 1 Hour 25mm; those repairs were hard enough and dry enough after 1 hour to allow the coating to be applied.
RonaFloor PU Coating WB was applied in two coats. After just 4 hours curing at 20oC, the second coat was applied. 24 hours later the building was vacated ready to hand over to new tenants.

“Before we applied RonaFloor PU Coating WB we made good the existing surface by filling in bolt holes and damage, grinding off the original surface coating to reveal the clean concrete beneath” says the specialist flooring contractor. “We then applied two coats of RonaFloor PU Coating WB to seal the surface. The product is painted onto the concrete and is very quick and easy to apply, a necessity considering the size of the surface. The fast curing properties of the coating mean the second coat can be applied soon after the first”.
