The Company offers a range of specialist products to repair, protect and resurface concrete and to create safe slip-resistant flooring for floors.
Bedding and Bonding
Brick slips, copings, kerbs, paviours, setts are bedded in a mortar to ensure they stay in position. The mortar is to act as a strong adhesive, gluing the component to the substrate. By enhancing its performance the mortar is better able to resist attack from physical stress such as impact and trafficking, the effects of weathering including water penetration, frost, freeze / thaw cycling, exposure to UV light.
Mortars and primers are available in site batched and prepacked form to create powerful adhesives to bed and secure such components. A range of ultra-rapid strength gain mortars can achieve all of this within just one hour of mixing, allowing, for example, roads to be opened to normal traffic loads just 60 minutes after bedding blocks and kerbs.
Concrete Repair
Repair Mortars
Repair and refurbishment of concrete structures is a well established discipline and repairing “like with like” is recognised as the best approach in most situations. Ronacrete’s concrete repair mortars are cement based, contain quality sands and enhanced with polymers, fillers and binders to aid adhesion, control curing and improve durability.
For vertical and overhead surfaces, high build mortars assist the applicator in quickly building deep repairs, saving and time and maximising cost benefit.
Available in site batched and prepacked form, the mortars offer choices in value, convenience, depth of build, and control.
Levelling Mortars
Patch repaired buildings often require smoothing or textured levelling to mask repairs prior to overcoating with protective and decorative spray or roller applied coatings. A choice of site batched and prepacked materials with either smooth or fine aggregate finishes provide a base on to which coatings are then applied.
Protective Coatings
To extend the life of a concrete structure and to enhance its appearance after repair a coating is applied. This provides protection against rain and attacking gases, and to provide it with a uniform paint coating which can add years to its serviceable life.
Available in several forms with properties including waterproof, flexible, elastomeric (stretching and recovering like an elastic band), colours from white to black and more than 400 in between, insurable for 10 years. And even a clear, see through transparent version which allows the surface appearance to be retained – ideal for listed heritage buildings.
Flooring
Floor Screeds
Thin screeds may be considered as weak and only suitable for covering with carpet and then being walked on. But Ronacrete’s screeds, at only 12mm thick (or thin), are tougher than concrete and can support the weight and the abrasion from fork lift trucks, cars, lorries, aeroplanes, industrial and commercial machinery. Floors laid with Ronacrete products in the 1970’s are still performing today after more than 30 years exposed to daily wear and tear.
Ronacrete’s screeds include features such as thin section, rapid strength gain, fast drying, low shrinkage, self smoothing, ultra-thin, application at low temperature and below zero, waterproof, frost proof, slip-resistant.
Floor Coatings
From simple decorative coatings to ultra-fast curing highly slip-resistant floor systems, Ronacrete can offer a wide range of coatings to satisfy:
Slip resistance, fast cure, low temperature and sub-zero application, colour demarcation, flexibility, chemical resistance, UV stability are all available. Add to this the range of resin bonded aggregate systems which offer either a superb natural stone landscaping surface or a hardwearing anti-slip floor coating for factories and warehouses and there’s a lot than can be done with Ronacrete’s flooring resins.
Floor Repair
When that pothole in the floor starts to get in the way of normal working and your health and safety reputation is at risk, floors can repaired quickly, economically and with long term durability using one of Ronacrete’s cement or resin based repair mortars. With the fastest offering trafficking with fork trucks after just one hour, you are unlikely to be inconvenienced when repairing floors with a Ronacrete mortar.
On offer is speed, the convenience of a prepacked ready to use repair kit, the ability to apply down to -10oC, smooth trowelled finish, waterproof and frost proof.
Resin Bonded Aggregate
The look of natural stone and aggregate on paths and roadways, in parks and around water features is a welcome break from tarmac, asphalt, block paving and loose shingle. Combined with the safety that is achieved with slip-resistant bonded stone and the benefits of resin bonded aggregate surfacing for landscaping is immediately apparent and visible.
Ronacrete's resin bonded aggregate surfacing system offers attractive, decorative stone surfacing which is durable for foot and vehicle traffic, is available in a select range of finishes and is at home on private, public and commercial surfaces.
Offering fast curing, self priming, low temperature application and a range of seal coats to protect against spillages, the system allows surfaces to be transformed and trafficked within just hours.
Resin bonded aggregate surfacing is used for two distinct applications.
Decorative Landscaping
Bonding natural stone aggregates to concrete, timber, tarmac, asphalt with a fast curing resin adhesive creates the natural look of stone but without the inherent mess of loose gravel. This helps maintain a clean, well defined surface which is both attractive and functional. A choice of aggregate colours, tints and sizes satisfies the demands of landscape designers, architects and users.
The quick acting resin adhesive allows surfaces to be coated and opened up for foot and heavier traffic after only a few hours, minimising disruption in parks, landscaped gardens, ornamental areas, museums, stadia.
Slip Resistant Floor Surfacing
The second use of resin bonded aggregate is the creation of slip-resistant surfaces for foot and industrial traffic in factories, warehouses, loading bays, steps and ramps. Hard angular aggregates provide the slip resistance, the resin provides the bond between the aggregate and the substrate. A seal coat surrounds the aggregate and aids retention and cleaning. The use of different coloured aggregates such as red and green allows safe and hazard areas to be clearly identified.
Treated surfaces can be opened to pedestrian and heavier traffic within just a few hours, depending on the system used.
Treads and Nosings
With slips, trips and falls costing the UK economy more than £650 million every year, and untold pain and suffering to victims, property owners, managers and maintainers have a huge responsibility to ensure their properties are safe and the risk of slipping is minimised. This can be achieved in many ways including good housekeeping and the use of appropriate footwear.
There will be occasions when concrete and other floors require a coating or covering which increases the slip resistance or repair mortars are used to fill potholes and level uneven surfaces. The use of rapid curing products will minimise disruption to owners, and users.
Ronacrete offer a comprehensive range of coatings, coverings, instant-fix preformed sections together with repair mortars and levelling screeds to maximise grip and minimise slip. Some solutions allow floors to be opened to normal traffic within seconds, others range from 1 hour to next day.
Waterproofing
If you have a basement room, maybe an or office or storage area, and water is getting in, the room becomes unserviceable or unpleasant to use. Stored papers, equipment, stock can become damaged or be destroyed. If you have a water retaining structure such as a swimming pool, pond, fountain, spa, and water is escaping this can damage the surrounding properties and land and becomes expensive to maintain water levels.
The solution is to apply a thin bonded waterproof or watertight render to act as a barrier against the water flow. A 6mm or 12mm render can stop 100% of the water and reduce the passage of water vapour by 96%.
Waterproof and watertight (tanking) renders and screeds can be supplied as site batched and prepacked systems.
