Ronacrete high performance screeds and floor coatings have been used to upgrade floors in several of the Fire Brigade appliance bay floor areas.
After surveying the floors, Ronacrete compiled a technical specification package comprising new screeds to repair and level existing surfaces followed by a range of coatings to provide slip resistance, impact resistance and decoration.
Because fire fighters have to run across the floors in the appliance bay area and because these floors are often wet it is important that they are not slippery. Therefore coatings must be used which are both slip resistant, strong enough to withstand anticipated impact and abrasion, and in a colour which suits the Surveyors and Station Officer.
- Ronafix screeds
- RonaDeck Fast Grip Standard Resin
- RonaDeck Fast Grip Seal Coat
- RonaDeck HB 200 plus A/S Aggregate
Before the materials could be used, tests were necessary to satisfy the demanding performance requirements demanded and therefore samples produced in the Ronacrete laboratory were submitted to Taywood Engineering for tests including Slip Resistance Value, abrasion resistance and impact resistance. All were carried out in both wet and dry conditions.
All materials attained the necessary passes and were approved. Working together with the watch, the specialist applicator carried out all the necessary surface preparation and applied the materials to the very high standards required.
Disruption was minimised through careful planning and selection of rapid curing and fast strength gain materials.
