Game, Ronaset and Match

Rapid strength gain Ronacrete bedding mortars were used during the construction of Wimbledon's All England Tennis Club, specifically the media centre at the historic sporting venue which has been redeveloped for the next millennium.

Rapid strength gain Ronaset Mortar was chosen as a bedding mortar by London-based expansion joint installation company Radmat because it gains working strengths of 40N/mm² in just 24 hours and can be used in place of more expensive epoxy and polyester or very much slower but traditional concrete.

At Wimbledon Ronaset Mortar was used to create a levelling bed up to 40mm thick to allow the expansion joints to be fixed on a smooth surface. In addition to the Ronaset Mortar, Radmat used a substantial amount of pre-packed RonaBond HB40 high build mortar for concrete repair and rendering on stairway walls near the court.

Ronaset Mortar is supplied to site in a 25kg pack complete with dry powders, quality graded and dried sands amd a polymer gauging liquid. No water is needed. The material components are mixed in a forced action mixer to produce a semi-dry mortar. That mortar is laid onto the concrete base at a minimum depth of 6mm to provide a smooth, flat and level base for the mechanical joint. Within 24 hours the Ronaset Mortar gains sufficient strength to allow bolt holes to be drilled and the joint fixed, saving time, money and expensive construction delays.
